Stories and highlights
There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.
A year at our school
Athletics Carnivals
Our Athletics Carnival events are a fun-filled and exciting that bring our school and community together.
Each year we hold an event for our 3-6 students and one for our preschool-Year 2 students.
The sportsmanship, teamwork and friendship displayed at these events is always something to celebrate.
PBL Badge Ceremonies
Throughout the year we hold PBL Badge Ceremony to recognise the hard work, effort and commitment of our students who have consistently demonstrated our Safe, Positive, Learner expectations and behaviours throughout the year.
We are always thrilled to present students with their badges and invite their families to these ceremonies to pin their child's badge on their uniform to be worn proudly.
Star Struck
Each year our students in Years 3-6 have the opportunity to take part in Star Struck.
Star Struck is an annual performing arts showcase presented by the NSW Department of Education for students across Newcastle, the Hunter and Central Coast regions. The event features outstanding performances in dance, drama, and music by students from Kindergarten to Year 12, drawn from a wide network of NSW public schools.
Star Struck provides rich performance and learning opportunities that foster a lifelong appreciation for the performing arts.
The perfomances are always something special!
Author Visits
Every year, our students have the opportunity to attend a variety of author visits from popular children's authors and illustrators.
These visits are so important for students to see that the power of storytelling and writing is a worthwhile and important career.
In 2025, we have been fortunate to enjoy memorable sessions with Nat Amoore, Sean E Avery, James Foley and Caz Goodwin.
Book Dragons Club
The Book Dragons had the most amazing morning with author/illustrator, a walking, talking encyclopaedia of bizarre animals facts, Sami Bayly.
Sami shared her processes and tips and tricks to creating a book. We discussed layouts, design features, backgrounds and cover art.
They then did a mystery animal drawing alongside Sami.
Students will be working on creating their own book over the next term and she has generously created a layout sheet and a book template for us to use.
This amazing opportunity was made possible thanks to our involvement in CBCA Shadow Judging and CBCA Hunter .
This is something these students will remember forever.
