About our preschool

Public Preschools

Telarah Public School Preschool is the Department of Educations 2 unit preschool which opened in October 1979. Up to 80 students can be enrolled with each student attending 5 days a fortnight. It is an important part of Telarah Public School which is one of 100 identified Preschool to Year 6 Public Schools in NSW.

Preschoos in public schools provide educational programs for children one year prior to enrolment in Kindergarten. A child may be eligible for enrolment in preschool from the beginning of the school year if they turn four years on or before 31 July that year.

The Department provides an Early Childhood trained teacher and qualified SLSO (school learning support officer) in each Preschool class.

The direct supervision of the Preschool is undertaken by the Assistant Principal, Mrs Cathy Banister. Mrs Banister provides a link between the Preschool and the school in her executive role. Her committment to quality early education enhances our Preschool program.

Links between the Preschool and school are further strenghtened with school staff and students particpating in special events and celebrations and participating in activities in Kindergarten.

The Preschool entry is on George Street, Telarah. Parking is available on this street.

Our operating hours are 9am to 3pm during school terms, so the same as any NSW DoE School.
