Volunteering at school

Helping out at school is a great way to get involved in your child’s education as well as get to know the staff and other parents and carers.

Research shows that children benefit when their parents or carers are actively involved in their education and school life.

You can help by:

  • listening to children read in the classroom
  • volunteering on sports days
  • helping supervise excursions
  • getting involved in fundraising activities
  • joining school committees.

Volunteering at Telarah Public School

We value the importance of community involvement within our school setting

A few of the ways you can offer your assistance

  • Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program
  • PBL Badge Celebrations
  • Community BBQ events
  • Transportation of students
  • School Canteen
  • Excursions

All Parent/Carer volunteers assiting on our site must complete a WWCC Declaration form for volunteers and a Safety Briefing.

Volunteering in our school canteen and in the Kitchen program will also require parent/carers to complete an induction before commencement.

Volunteering in transportation of students requires parent/carers to hold a Working with children check - volunteer. This paperwork will be entered to obtain a Department clearance. License, Registration and Insurance information will also be required to be submitted.
